What is the RTL Saga?

RTL stands for Return to Life. It's a sci-fi/fantasy universe created by Cliff Bailey, starting way back in the 1990s.

For years he's struggled with how to bring all the diverse and plentiful ideas and characters to life, and his first viable opportunity came along in 2017.

Cliff was enrolled at the University of Hawaii - Manoa, in the Academy for Creative Media program, and produced a short film for his capstone project which encapsulates a very small sliver of the saga.

The finished product is currently available on YouTube and shows the fruits of many people's efforts.

It won best editing and second place audience favorite at the ACM festival in 2018 and screened at a handful of U.S. film festivals.

In 2019, Cliff and some of the cast hosted a table and panel session at Comic Con Honolulu where they screened the film and held a Q&A afterward.

Currently, Cliff is working on adapting the short film's storyline into a web comic, and exploring more storytelling opportunities in video game development.
